With the rapid development of electronic information technology, the impact of electromagnetic waves (EMW) on human health, information security, and precision electronic equipment cannot be ignored. Therefore, how to prepare lightweight, flexible and multifunctional materials to shield EMW is an urgent problem to be solved.Nanofiber Membrane (NFM) has many advantages, such as being lightweight, porous, and having high specific surface area, which can be used for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.

Recently, Professor Lan Xu of Soochow University has published a review, which mainly introduces the mechanism of EMI shielding, the principle and development of electrostatic spinning, and the commonly used materials for EMI shielding by electrostatically spun NFM. The review, entitled Electrospun Composite Nanofiber Membranes for Electromagnetic Protection, was published in the journal ACS Applied Nano Materials. ACS Applied Nano Materials.

The main points of this paper

1.This paper reviews the recent progress of Electrospun Nanofbers materials in the field of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.

2.This paper focuses on the preparation method, electromagnetic properties and EMI shielding mechanism of Electrospun Nanofbers materials

3. In addition, the prospects and challenges of the application of Electrospun Nanofbers materials in the field of EMI shielding are discussed.

What are the common EMI shielding materials used in electrospinning NFM?

Common materials used in electrospinningNFMs for EMI shielding include carbon materials, ceramic materials, and a variety of nanofillers. These materials are used to enhance the EMI shielding properties of NFMs and can include highly conductive or magnetic nanofillers.

Key findings and insights from this paper include:

1.Nanofiber Membrane (NFM) is a promising material for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding due to its unique properties, such as high surface area, porosity, and tunable electromagnetic properties.

2. The EMI shielding effectiveness of NFMs is affected by a number of factors, including the type of Electrospun Nanofbers material, the thickness and density of NFMs, and the presence of conductive fillers or dopants.

3. The addition of conductive fillers such as metal nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes and graphene can significantly increase the conductivity of NFMs and improve their EMI shielding performance.

4. The design and structure of NFMs play a crucial role in determining their EMI shielding performance. Compared with traditional NFMs, multilayer NFMs, gradient NFMs and porous NFMs have been shown to have excellent EMI shielding performance.

5. Electrospun NFMs can be integrated with other functional materials to create multifunctional EMI shielding materials with additional properties such as thermal insulation, flame retardancy and self-cleaning capabilities.
