Recently, Prof. Junwei Ye of Dalian University of Technology published a review on Nanofiber Membranes with antimicrobial activity for air filtration, which provides better practical insights into the design of novel Nanofiber Membranes with antimicrobial effect for efficient air filtration. The related research results have been published in the journal “Chinese Chemical Letters

The main points of this paper

1. This review firstly discusses the antimicrobial mechanism and PM trapping mechanism of Nanofiber Membrane.

2. Different types of Nanofiber Membrane and their contained organic antimicrobial agents, inorganic antimicrobial agents, and metal-organic frameworks are described in detail for efficient air filtration

The main results of Nanofiber Membrane antimicrobial air filtration research are as follows

1. Nanofiber Membrane provides a promising platform for air filtration due to its rich porous structure, finer fiber diameter, good internal connectivity, and the ability to easily incorporate active chemicals with antimicrobial functions.

2. The antimicrobial mechanism of Nanofiber Membrane for air filtration and the particle capture mechanism of Nanofiber were investigated.

3. Various types of Nanofiber Membrane with different antimicrobial agents, including organic antimicrobial agents, inorganic antimicrobial agents, and metal-organic frameworks for efficient air filtration are described in detail.

4. The study aims to provide practical insights for the design of novel static Nanofiber Membrane with antimicrobial efficacy
