Tissue engineering materials need to have biocompatibility, biodegradability, detoxification, high porosity, mechanical adaptability, drug release ability, etc.
There are many ways to prepare nanofibers for tissue engineering, such as electrospinning, self-assembly, phase separation, freeze drying, 3D printing, etc. However, among these methods, electrospinning technology is one of the most promising.
Electrospinning technology can prepare three-dimensional porous fiber membrane with the same structure as the natural extracellular matrix. This fiber membrane can be used as an ideal tissue engineering scaffold to facilitate cell adhesion, migration and proliferation, and then replicate the replacement three-dimensional tissue structure, and enable cells to differentiate and grow along different cell lines.
In recent years, polymer fiber scaffolds prepared by electrospinning technology have been widely used in tissue engineering research fields such as blood vessel, heart, nerve, bone, cartilage and skin.
